Mint Gold Ranch is located in Brown County, Wisconsin between De Pere and Denmark. We specialize in raising registered Suffolks with large loineyes, big hind quarters, callipyge-free with excellent maternal traits. We believe our sheep need to do more than just look good. Our selection of sires and replacement ewe lambs is based on scanning data as well as their dam's production traits. We have been scanning all of our lambs since 1999. This gives us a good background to develop our ewe base and pick the top sires to continue our breeding program.
We have ram and ewe lambs available each year for breeding stock, and also have a limited number of club lambs available in the spring.

Until early May of 2011 we were certified as a scrapie free flock. However, in order to introduce new genetics into the flock we have chosen to remove our flock from this program. All of our Suffolk rams are RR, which means that all his offspring will have scrapie resistance. Any Dorset rams that we offer for sale will be either RR or QR. In recent years incidence of scrapie has been greatly reduced and DNA testing for the scrapie resistant gene has been widely accepted as offering resistance to the disease.
